NCPA presents film screening of BOLSHOI BALLET: SLEEPING BEAUTY
From Aurora’s birth to her marriage to Prince Désiré, this saga of love, desire and destiny combines all the elements of a great moral fable with wonderful entertainment. With Tchaikovsky’s beautiful melodies and a storyline drawn from Charles Perrault’s tale, Sleeping Beauty rolls out the most incredibly sumptuous scenes that mirror the grandeur of the 19th-century Russian court. Choreographed by Marius Petipa in 1890 and revived by Yuri Grigorovich in 2011, the Bolshoi dancers give stunning performances in this technically challenging ballet.
