Sushma Mohan presents a lecture and dance demonstration BHARATANATYAM - TRADITIONS AND TECHNIQUES for the Dance students of Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. Sushma will talk about the history of Bharatanatyam and provide an insight to its technique and the significance of Indian dance tradition. Selection from recent works of Soorya's productions along with traditional items will be presented by Sushma along with her senior disciples.
Sushma is a disciple of Prasanna Kasthuri and Ranjani Ganesan and received advanced training from the Dhananjayans. A winner of the National Youth Fest award, she has performed in major dance venues in India and the USA. At present Sushma directs the New Jersey unit of Soorya Dance Company, where she trains students in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic Music.
