India currently ranks as the world’s eleventh greatest energy producer, accounting for about 2.4% of the worlds total annual energy production, and as the worlds sixth greatest energy consumer , accounting for about 3.3% of the worlds total annual energy consumption. With an expected GDP growth of 8% by the end of the Tenth Five – year plan, the energy demand is expected to grow at 5.6-6.4%
Given the vast potential of growth in this important sector, CII is organizing Energy Expo 2007, its 3rd international exhibition & conference to showcase the progress made, deliberate the potential opportunities and challenges facing the industry and to create a roadmap for sustainable growth and development.
