| Around 37 people were killed near Arakalgud in Karnataka's Hassan district when a lorry in which they were travelling plunged into a water body on Thursday, police said.
Authorities have rushed to the spot and rescue operations have commenced, police said.
Twenty-one people died on the spot where as 16 other died in the hospital.
The lorry, which was carrying a marriage party, was packed with more than 100 people, police said
