| There were around 400 people on the ship for Navy family day celebrations.
Reports suggest that the warship is tilting over 50 percent and with over 300 tonnes of fuel in vessel, there are now concerns about a possible oil spill.
The Navy has complained that the merchant ship did not follow standard operating procedure
The fire was reported early this morning on the INS Vindhyagiri, which was hit on Sunday evening by a merchant ship, M N Nordlake.
The navy's fire brigade has teamed up the Mumbai fire brigade to fight the fire.
The Vindhyagiri was entering the harbour last evening at 5 pm and the Nordlake was on its way out when it hit the warship near the Sunk Rock Lighthouse.
