Temperatures soar in north India |
It's another scorching day across north India with temperatures hovering as much as 5 degrees above normal in several parts of the region.

It's another scorching day across north India with temperatures hovering as much as 5 degrees above normal in several parts of the region.
Large parts of Punjab, Rajasthan and Madhya Preadesh are grappling under the severe heat wave.
Three people have died in Punjab and one each in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Jammu experienced a maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius while Amritsar grilled under the hot sun at 43 degrees Celsius.
The capital sizzled at 42 degrees Celsius while Chandigarh was at 40 degrees Celsius.
Srinagar too is in the grip of the searing heat at 45.5 degrees Celsius. Jaipur, Gwalior and Bhopal experienced a high of 43 degrees Celsius, 45 degrees Celsius and 43 degrees Celsius respectively.

Avoid going out in the sun
Keep your head covered with a cap or scarf while out in the sun
Drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration
Aside from normal drinking water, coconut water is also very good to keep hydrated
Apply sun block
The symptoms of heatstroke are as follows:
High temperatures of 103 and above
Muscle cramping
Rapid pounding pulse
Throbbing headache
Dizziness
Nausea
Unconsciousness
