| A Raja replaces Maran as IT Ministe |
| Minister of State for Environment and Forests A Raja has been appointed as the new Minister for Communications and IT.

| Minister of State for Environment and Forests A Raja has been appointed as the new Minister for Communications and IT.
Raja will replace Dayanidhi Maran, who resigned as Union Minister under instructions from DMK leader and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
Raja has been the Minister of State for Environment and Forests since the UPA came to power in 2004.
Filling in Raja's position will be the present Minister of State for Home Affairs Regupathy, who is a DMK MP from Pudukottai.
Sources have also told NDTV that the name of Radhika Selvi, a Lok Sabha member from Tiruchengode may be forwarded by the DMK for the post of Minister of State for Home.
Interestingly, she is the wife of Panayar Venkatesan who was killed by the police in an encounter in Chennai a few years ago. Selvi belongs to the influential Nadar community
