The unbearable heat wave across most of north and west India is slated to continue.
Over 70 people have succumbed to the heat wave till now.
Although maximum temperatures are expected to come down slightly, the Met department says the heat will stay as oppressive as it has been in the last few days.
Despite mild dust storms, the high level of humidity will continue to cause discomfort.
Scorching summer
Sunday was another scorcher of a day in north India though mercifully no records were set unlike the previous day.
The maximum temperature touched a high of 46 degrees Celsius in Amritsar (Punjab) and Sriganganagar (Rajasthan) while the high was 45.5 degrees Celsius in Hissar in Haryana.
Delhi was scorching at 44 degrees Celsius on Sunday after the mercury touched 44.9 degrees Celsius a day earlier.
In Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, the high was 45.5 degrees Celsius.
In stark contrast, Bihar capital Patna has received eight mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
Other parts of the state, Purnia and Bhagalpur, have also received a good amount of rain and the temperature in Patna is around an enviable 25 degrees Celsius.
