I don't want to lose India: Taslima
Hours after, the central intelligence agencies shifted her out from the Rajasthan House in Delhi
 INDIA , 27-November-2007  9:22:36 AM
Hours after, the central intelligence agencies shifted her out from the Rajasthan House in Delhi, there is no official word on Taslima Nasreen's whereabouts.

Speaking to NDTV's Managing Editor Barkha Dutt on the telephone, Nasrin asserted that she is safe.

Sources close to the Bangladeshi author have also told NDTV that the pressure to move Taslima Nasrin out of Kolkata began as early as August and involved the then police commissioner, Prasun Mukherjee who reportedly told the author that he was representing the chief minister.

Ever since the violent protests broke out in Kolkata last week, Taslima has been shifted from state to state, and now, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi has confirmed that she's in New Delhi.

In a poignant confession made to NDTV, Taslima said, ''I am alright but am not allowed to disclose my location.''

Uncertainty still clouds her near future, as she had no clue about the course of action to be adopted by the central government.

''I have not been told where I will be taken next. I have asked officials many times how long I will have to stay in hiding,'' she said

''I feel safer today under the Centre's protection,'' Nasreen asserted.

Taslima Nasreen was shifted to an undisclosed location early Tuesday from her erstwhile abode, The Rajasthan House.

The firebrand author has time and again reaffirmed her faith and belief in India and it's government.

''I lost Bangladesh, I don't want to lose India,'' she said.

The government is slated to make a statement on Taslima Nasreen in Parliament on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, several writers, teachers and theatre personalities took out a silent protest in the capital on Tuesday urging the government to step in and allow for voices like Taslima to be heard.

The group which included former Rajya Sabha MP Kuldeep Nayar, Swami Agnivesh and Kamla Bhasin say that they will try and build pressure on the government by organizing similar protests
