| Karnataka may soon be headed for assembly elections. Election Commission (EC) sources say the Commission is likely to conduct elections in the state before the President's rule ends on May 28.
The Commission will visit Bangalore on March 4 to assess the situation.
The EC sources say elections can be held within the time frame even after the re-drawn constituencies as per the Delimitation Commission.
A Supreme Court ruling also says that elections can't be postponed for more than six months unless there is a natural disaster.
