Bhangra is a fusion of music, singing and the beat of the dhol drum. Additional instruments such as the tabla, chimta, tumbi or dholaki are also often used. Today, the word bhangra is more associated with the style of dance pop music from the merging of the more traditional instruments described above with more modern sounds of electric guitars, keyboards as well as remixes with Hip-hop, Reggae, Latin Music and other genres. The final product is nothing short of a mesmerizing, pulsating, dance-able beat!. Bollywood produces over 1,000 movies a year (twice as many as Hollywood) and brings over 14 million people to the theatre everyday! Most of these Bollywood films are musicals with stunning dance numbers by actors and actresses alike!
