Two legends of Indian classical music return to NYC
Pandit Shivkumar Sharma has enraptured audiences throughout the world for decades with his mastery of the santur, a hammered dulcimer known for its lush, shimmering sounds. A pioneering musician, he was responsible for developing the santur, traditionally used in Kahsmiri folk music, into an important instrument in the North Indian classical repertoire. He will be joined by the incomparable Zakir Hussain, the leading tabla payer of his generation
