This multimedia event features touring Hindustani musicians Tarun Bhattacharya on santoor and his tabla accompanist Subrata Bhattacharya. Opening the evening will be the Sangeet Millennium Ensemble, which fuses classical Indian and jazz music and is led by Austin sitarist Amie Maciszewski. Joining the Ensemble for the first time will be highly regarded jazz musicians Alex Coke on saxophone and guitarist Bruce Saunders, Associate Professor at the Berklee College of Music. Through collaboration with media artist ms. mars, the evening will be enhanced by visual projections of ragamala paintings, which depict the colorful, emotive sounds and visual images of raga, the varied melody types in Indian music
