Praveen Rao is a music composer, actor and a versatile multi-instrumentalist with an international reputation, based in Bangalore. He plays a range of percussion instruments, keyboard and also electronic media.
Praveen Rao has created a style of his own in creative music. Over the last fifteen years he has composed music scores for dance dramas, theatre, Indian ballet, films and television. He has had the privilege of working with M. S. Sathyu, Lalgudi Jayaraman, L. Vaidyanathan, C.Ashwath, B. V. Karanth, Sri A.S. Murthy, B. Jayashri, Hariharan to name a few. He has traveled to the U.K on numerous occasions to work with Chitraleka Dance Company, Moby duck and Sampad. He has also created music scores and also acted in television soaps like Asare, Tulasi, Manvantara and Muktha.
Praveen has a band named EARTH’N BEAT which performs South Asian contemporary music and is very well known in the music circuit in the U.K.
