One man mentoring a hockey team of young and feisty girls. Their determination, ambition and skills are put to test in an ultimate contest with the world’s top teams. For the girls it is a chance to make their nation proud. For their coach it is a chance to reclaim his lost honour.
‘Chak De India’ is the story of a coach’s fight to make his team, Team India, the best in the world. It is a film about self-belief, perseverance, determination and the human spirit to fight and win.
The movie is directed by Shimit Amin and it stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role as the coach of Indian girls’ hockey team.
‘Chak De India’ has a host of young girls as the players of the hockey team. The girls are: Vidya Malvade , Sagarika Ghatge, Chitrashi Rawat, Shilpa Shukla, Tanya Abrol, Anaitha Nair, Shubhi Mehta, Seema Azmi, Nisha Nair, Sandia Furtado, Arya Menon, Masochon V. Zimik and Kimi Laldawla.
Once the hero of Indian Hockey, the best ‘centre forward’ in the world, the man a nation found a hero in. And the man it sentenced to hell. Now he has decided to make a last comeback to the game he once loved, to reclaim his lost honour and prove his point to the nation he still loves.
Kabir Khan aims to achieve the impossible by making a rag-tag bunch of loser girls into a team. And he is eyeing nothing less than World Championship. The only problem is – it is easier said than done.
