Sangati Center is oraganizing "Solo Violin Concert" by Gautam Tejas Ganeshan.
Gautam performs improvised music on the violin. He represents a growing group of young creative artists who are making Indian classical music their own by identifying with it strongly while consciously taking it in new directions. In 2004 Gautam received an honorary Mellon Fellowship in Ethnomusicology for his work on improvisation in South Indian classical music.
