The SIMBA India National Event will present progress of the project proposals that were identified in the Priority Workshop of November 2006. Breakout sessions are foreseen, as well as technical workshops on priority topics. The event will be geared towards the preparation of demonstration projects and concrete cooperation activities between Europe and India.
ITS topics to be covered include ITS policy, standardisation and regulation, public transport management, electronic toll collection, digital roadmap and navigation systems, traffic information and traffic management. Automotive topics to be discussed include design and development of flexifuel vehicles, vision and radar sensors for obstacle detection and collision avoidance, as well as systems regulations and processes for recycling. Infrastructure topics include pavement management
systems, driving patterns on four-lane roads and pedestrian impact of buses and trucks.
Aims of the event include the creation of joint EU-India expert working groups, project proposals and
joint road transport research roadmaps.
