The Great Composers Day has been a CMANA tradition since the inception of the Association in 1976. Besides honoring Carnatic music composers, the function provides a forum for the youth to hone and display their musical talent. A mini concert by a "CMANA Junior Musician" and prestigious prizes including the Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi Prize, the Krishnamoorthy award, the Founders Prize, and the Visweswariah Award for notable service by a Junior Member are among the many highlights of this highly acclaimed annual event.
We request you to kindly attend the entire program, honor the composers, and celebrate the achievements of our youth. Your volunteering will be highly appreciated.
Program Agenda:
08.30 - 09.00 AM Registration - VOCAL participants in pre-Junior, Junior, and Intermediate
08.30 - 09.00 AM Registration – All essay and all percussion participants
12.00 - 1.00 PM Registration - Senior Vocal, Advanced, & all instrumental participants
09.15 - 09.45 AM Essay Competition (for all categories)
09.30 – 6:30+ PM Music Competitions, Junior Musician Concert, Prize Distribution
