Studio Confluence is organising Gallery of Modern Art Promoted by Jehangir K. S. Nicholson presents an Exhibition of Sculptures and Drawings from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Renowned sculptor Himmat Shah trained primarily as a drawing teacher and in the late 50`s, he studied painting at the prestigious Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University, Baroda, where he worked under Prof. N. S. Bendre. Soon after, he received national recognition and a scholarship by the French Government which took him to Paris. Though better known as a sculptor, Shah’s drawings depict complex contemporary visuals and display exceptional skill. His exploration and treatment of different materials and his expertise at impersonating different surfaces displays a scientific bent of mind often leaving an impact of a strong sense of vitality and agreeable tension on the mind of the spectator.
