This
January, groups representing dance traditions from around the world will
audition over four days, and the public is welcome to come cheer them on.
Artists present their very best work, in full costume and many with live
musical accompaniment. The auditions offer the public a rare opportunity to
see between twenty-five and thirty performances each day that span the globe
including sizzling Flamenco, fancy trick roping from the American Southwest,
the intricate footwork of Indian dance, heavenly hula and much, much more.
And anyone can watch for only $7 a day! So, grab a friend and make it a
marathon, or bring the little ones for just one hour. Just don't miss the
liveliest and most diverse four days of dance in town this January!WHAT:
San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival Auditions 100 Northern California
dance companies will perform over four days for a spot in the 2008 30th
Anniversary San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival (happening in June*).
DATE: Saturdays and Sundays, January 12-13 and 19-20, 2008
TIME: 11am-7pm each day
WHERE: Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, 3301 Lyon (at Bay), San Francisco
