Kalapriya will present “The Moods of Meera” as choreographed by company founder and artistic director Pranita Jain. Inspired by the poetry of 16th century Indian writer Meera Bai the evening long dance performance explores the many moods of love.; Meera was a Queen who choose to follow Krishna, composing and singing poetic Hindu devctional songs in the praise of the lord Krishna. “The Moods of Meera as created by Jain utilizes the ancient classical dance Bharata Natyam to illunimate the myriad expression of love from the tentative anxious steps of a first love to mature love and finally love attained through spirituality.
