Angahara Dance Ensemble in
JWALA (FLAME)
(Dedicated to the Statue of Liberty)
JWALA is an excerpt from Angahara’s full production “Story of Light”. Beautifully choreographed dance sequences and storytelling combine as Ramaa & Swetha Bharadvaj along with four dancers from the Angahara Dance Ensemble color the stage with stories and images that highlight the significance of “Light” in the Indian culture. "JWALA- Flame" has been nominated for Lester Horton Dance Award and telecast nationally by PBS in December 2007 and was performed in the Battery Park Festival In Manhatten In August 2007.

This mother/daughter duo presents a vibrant Bharata Natyam interpretation of the remarkable poetry by India’s renowned 19th century poet-king Swati Tirunal set to commissioned music by Rajkumar Bharathy
