Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam is organising the annual Thirukkural Elocution Contest for school and college students. Each contestant can speak for five minutes on any of the topics mentioned here. The topics are ‘Thottanai Thoorum Manarkeni’ or ‘Odayar Yenapaduvathu Ookkam’ or ‘Yenni Thuniga Karumam’ (for Juniors - Classes Six to Eight); ‘Irrultheera Yenni Seyal’ or ‘Karumamae Katalai Kal’ or ‘Keitpinung Kela Thagayavae’ (for Seniors - Classes Nine and Ten); ‘Porinmai Yarkkum Pazhiyanru’ or ‘Uzhuvaar Ulagatharukku Aani’ or ‘Nannayam Yennum Serukku’ (for Super Seniors - Classes Eleven and Twelve); and ‘Yarae Pizhathathu Orukirpavar’ or ‘Veinthamai Illatha Naadu’ or ‘Innathu Inaniloor Vazhthal’ (for college students - Diploma/UG/PG courses).
