DANCING INTO STILLNESS is a solo 60 minute Bharatanatyam presentation by Ramaa Bharadvaj in Khmer Arts Salon Series. It is based on stories and images from Indian iconography, mythology, and Vedic literature. Through a trilogy of her favorite original choreographies she offers a contemplation of the human soul's quest through the ages for Balance, Freedom and Peace. The evening will include an interactive movement segment with the audience and a Q & A session. The Khmer Arts Salon Series is a monthly lecture-performances series that is presented in an intimate setting and is aimed at educating and cultivating an audience for highly stylized theater and traditional Art forms from Southern and Southeastern Asia. It is curated by Prumsodun Ok, a dancer, filmmaker and teacher at the Khmer Arts Academy and is funded by The James Irvine Foundation.
