CelebrateStory and the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center present: Work in Progress
Directed by Richard Armstrong, Choreography by Sat Hon
Internationally celebrated storyteller and author Diane Wolkstein and eminent dancer Anita Ratnam, present the great Chinese epic JOURNEY TO THE WEST, first public performance of the project which has been in preparation for two years and on two continents. The adventure follows impetuous, super powerful Monkey and the devoted, fearless (but not always) Tank priest as they journey to India to bring back the Buddhist scriptures. Through gorgeous, unexpected movement and song, Diane Wolkstein and Anita Ratnam take us on a journey of the soul.
