Malini Srinivasan and Dancers present TEJAS-LUMINOUS and the premiere of SIVA´S GRIEF.

TEJAS-LUMINOUS evokes the atmosphere of the morning, afternoon, dusk and evening through the Indian classical dance form Bharatanatyam. Dancer/choreographer Malini Srinivasan integrates Yoga as well as Kerala art forms Mohiniattam and Koodiyattam into her new Bharatanatyam choreography. Carnatic music, along with new music by Ilari Kaila, accompanies the dancers, providing a soundscape of sublime melodies and haunting harmonies in a sensory feast that will please Indian dance afficionados, and delight those who have never experienced it.
SIVA'S GRIEF explores Siva's wild dance of rage and grief when his wife, Sati, dies. The choreography explores masculine (Tandava) and feminine (Lasya) aspects of Bharatanatyam dance and incorporates Yoga and martial movement. New music by Ilari Kaila for percussion ensemble integrates Carnatic and Western musical concepts.
