Kalamandapam’s director Mrinalini Sadananda will be performing a Kuchipudi dance drama BUDDHAM SHARANAM GACHAAMI with nearly100 of her students at one of the most prestigious theaters in the US, The John F Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, in Washington DC. It has taken Mrinalini nearly six months to choreograph this play, since the topic chosen is very tough to stage it as a dance ballet. The music is by popular violinist Subhash Vinjamuri. The most interesting feature is Thillalla composed by eleven year old Kamalakiran Vinjamuri. The live orchestra includes nattuvangam by Pasumarthi Seshu Babu, mridangam by Vijay Ganesh, vocal by Latha Kannan, Ramarao Mysore, TC Ratnapuri, violin by Subhash Vinjamuri and keyboard and violin by Kamalakiran Vinjamuri. The famous Kuchipudi dancer Cheruvu Bharathi will perform in this production.
