The documentary section of the festival opens at the prestigious Asia Society with,
The Opening Day Doc:"Bhutto- The Film Followed by Cary McLelland's"Women of Without Shepherds"
Venue: Asia Society
Timing: 1pm - 5pm
Bhutto, the opening day doc, has been to Sundance Festival and this is the film's New York Premiere! Bhutto is the definitive documentary that chronicles the life of the first woman to be elected (twice) as the head of a Muslim state.
The screening of Bhutto will be be followed by Cary Mclelland's "Without Shepherds". In the wake of Benazir Bhutto's assassination as violent attacks ripple throughout Pakistan the film crosscuts between six people wrestling with a country in turmoil and defiantly standing for change.
The screenings will be followed by a panel discussion.
