Cast: Kavya Madhavan, MythiliDirection: Sudhir AmbalapadGenre: DramaDuration: 2 hours 1 minute Story: Breaking News Live is based on the Soumya murder case that shook Kerala. Breaking News Live tries to extract a sense of optimism from the real life incident of Soumya who died after she fell off a moving train after she was raped by an assailant. The narrative juggles between incidents in an ambiguous manner losing it purpose. Nayana, a hotel management student ( Kavya Madhavan) gets acquainted with a girl named Sneha ( Mydhili). On another day Nayana finds Sneha dangling from the doors of a moving train while trying to escape from an attacker. Movie Review: The outcome is predictable, given the horrendous impact a girl's death had left in the psyche of the society. Director Sudheer Ambalapad then dabbles in certain fictitious propositions; What if Nayana just stood idle watching Sneha fall off the train and getting killed or what if she gathered courage and had the nerve to act when it was needed. For a moment, a gripping probability is set which is soon shattered by a series of stretched out sequences heavily populated with news hours and television visuals. The guilt of inaction is overdone and the effect is drab. Nayana is shown caught in helplessness, and guilt so much so that revival seems completely impossible. In the meantime, the film tries to hold together certain pertinent issues, an inaction at the most inappropriate time, awakening,
