Cast: Richard Joy Thomas, Athmeeya Rajan, Manu, Rejith Menon, Jagadish
Direction: Ranjan Pramod
Production: Varnchitra Big Screen & Colour Pencil Films
Music: Shahabaz Aman
Ranjan Pramod has once proved beyond doubt that he very well knew the grammar of commercial filming in Mollywood. But with his directorial assignments, the director seems to be in moving in chaotic lanes with his own poor scripting ruining his plans. What that have happened with his 'Photographer' seems to have repeated in his second outing as a director in 'Rose Guitarinal'. With another tried and tested story, Ranjan seems to have failed in the challenge to give a new spin to the age-old tale. The movie also lacks the drama and emotions- barring a few episodes, the viewer aren't absorbed into the world of the lead trio, reflecting on the sketchy written material.
The movie has Manu as Joe Alex , an young guy passionately called as Appu by his family. Though working in a private firm, he is in deep love with his friend from childhood Thara John(Atmiya Rajan of 'Mankothyparavai' fame) . Appu is a regular in Thara's home and accompanies her daily to her workplace where she is in the final training for a job as air-hostess. Thara has a little clues about Appu's intentions , but is quite reclined and tender girl who likes to be the pet of all. When Appu's parents are planning to move out of the city to their inherited village, Appu is left lonely in the city.
