In an interesting line in the movie , the protagonist Humayun lists a couple of charity institutions for which his lover Anupama needs to send the donations, even in his absence. And from the back seats we did hear some creative mind opining that ' if the producer had decided to donate all the money that went to make this film, it would have been a more worthy act than producing this movie'. Yes, this 'Musafir' publicized more as one movie shot in Dubai, UK, Scotland and Thailand, just manages to become a tourism ad for these places than to tell any fine story lines.
The movie has Mamtha Mohandas as Anupama, the only daughter of G K (Cochin Haneef) who is the backbone behind the multicrore Parvana group of establishments. Anupama is a singer, dancer and a business tycoon who loves to support inspiring talents. Humayun (Rahman), an amazingly gifted singer and musician who dreams of composing a symphony some day, comes to her door for financial help. Though she avoids him initially, she is astonished to see him perform in a dance programme. And soon they become close buddies, and Anupama falls for his list of abilities ranging from dancing to bike racing and car chasing . Anupama also convinces her father about her decision to marry Humayun and invites him to his life . But Humayun, to her shock, states that he needs to seek permission from his Guru , Musafir before giving the final nod for their marriage.
