An extraordinary poet, a man with unmatchable humour sense, wisdom and humanity and celebrated as the only equal to the legendary Kannadasan, Vaali’s demise has hit the entire Tamil industry like a massive lightning. Having been in the industry for more than 50 years now, the master of poems has penned over 10,000 songs. Lyricist Vaali, known for his unbelievable flexibility, has worked with four generations of artistes.

My words fail me at this moment. What can I say about the master of words and poems? He would have helped with my lines, had he been with me now.
Vaali has given identities for MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and many other actors with his songs. I’m not a big enough person to praise an artiste as brilliant as Vaali. But for me, he is an elderly friend and a close one too. I’m here as a fan. If he was here now, he would have welcomed me saying, “Look, here comes a poet”. He was blessed with a complete life and a smooth end.
