    D Company Review - 9/19/2013 7:10:19 AM
Story: D company is an anthology film that compiles three different films dealing with different subjects.

D company essentially follows manifestation of violence in its varying shades and motives. If Padmakumar's Oru Bolivian Diary seeks noble intentions and universal objectives in violence, Gangs Of Vadakkumnathan by Diphan discovers violence in it's dark, devious and dirty tones. The one that stands out is Vinod Vijayan's Day Of Judgement.

Day of Judgement banks on a painfully crafted narrative that probes the fluctuations within the heart of a criminal. It has a tense nature that stands above its sluggish pace. However, despite the complexities of mind that are unravelled, the film gets caught in a stasis, forced upon itself by its over-indulgence in mind-games in a tedious manner, which does away with the thrill it promises in the beginning.

Bolivian Diary and Gangs of Vadakkumnathan are marred by an absence of depth and direction, something that could have resulted from trying to fit in sober themes in a short time-frame. Asif Ali continues to be haunted by his perennial defect of displaying a pasted expression, which is either of fear or glee. Anoop Menon who scripts and acts in Gangs of Vadakkumnathan comes across as a misplaced pattern. While sketching a smart cop who has invested with liberal quantities of bad taste, Anoop fails to give himself even a slightest mark of conviction.

Fahadh's brilliance illuminates ay of Judgment as he breaks off from the cold stiffness to a desperate plea for help, his mind entrapped in a web of innumerable surmises and a few possible answers.
