    Camel Safari Review - 10/13/2013 12:19:11 PM
Story: The film is about the romance between a Malayali girl and a Rajasthani youth and the chaos that ensues.

Never before has Jayaraj appeared so strained as he does in his new film Camel Safari. It's about the eternal theme of love sans the language barrier. While handling this theme, Jayaraj finds himself caught between an urge for a change and a vain attempt to stick to what he does best; narrate a story without complications.

The film shows a group of management students going for a trip to Rajasthan to attend a marriage. Diya ( Pankaja Menon) falls for Pavan a member of an affluent Rajasthani family whom she meets randomly on the street.

Jayaraj is unabashed while staging age-old sequences to nurture the bond between the hero and the heroine. Thief snatches bag from the girl, hero blocks him, girl falls in love. Songs are squeezed in like bolts of thunder while characters frolic in the sand, running aimlessly through the vast expense of desert as camera captures repetitive frames to dish out tiring song sequences.

Sometimes the film even looks silly, stitching together scenes meant for comic relief. Sample this - a servant mistakes a fountain for a broken pipe and the rest fall way below what amateur dramas could achieve. The film is further bogged down by a few actors who wear plastic expressions throughout the film.
