Synopsis: A family goes to their ancestral mansion with the intention of selling it off. However, people start dying in the place and they learn that the place is haunted. To make things worse, the ghost enters the body of one of the women.
Movie Review: In some ways, we go to a horror movie for the same reason why we go on a theme park ride time and again — for the thrills. Aranmanai uses many of the horror movie tropes that we have seen in films so far — palatial mansion, scary-looking child, formless dark shapes, brutal murder, thwarted romance, godmen, and so on. It is a formulaic horror movie in every sense of the word but Sundar C serves it up in his typical style. So, in addition to the thrills, you also get the laughs.
The plot involves Murali and his wife Madhavi going to a village to sell their ancestral mansion. They are accompanied by over half-a-dozen family members, played by supporting actors whom we have seen quite often, ranging from older ones like Kovai Sarala and Mano Bala to newer ones like Nithin Sathya and Raai Laxmi. Then, there is also Paalsamy, a thief and an illegitimate heir to the place, who comes there to stake his claim. The director also gets a role — as Madhavi's lawyer brother, Ravi,
