Cast: Jayasurya, Vinayakan, Aparna Nair, Vinay FortDirection: Aneesh UpasanaGenre: ThrillerDuration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Synopsis: Four strangers meet in an apartment elevator on a rainy day and as power fluctuates, two of them get mysteriously stabbed. The third one, a criminal, gets killed by the fourth one (a woman) in the elevator. What connects them all?
Review: Of late, Malayalam cinema is experimenting with edge-of-the-seat thrillers that give an initial impression that 'something is about to happen' or a brilliant twist would connect all the dots towards the end. Sadly, this doesn't happen and you feel tricked into paying attention as the last reel rolls with end credits. Aneesh Upasana's Seconds serves the thrill factor on a tempting platter for more than an hour and as you savour it, the distaste at the end isn't something you might have bargained for.
Daredevil girl Teena, notorious goon Thampi, insurance agent Veermani and photographer Firoz enter each other's life with the most unexpected turn of events and tragedy hits them in an elevator. As police investigation begins, we get to learn about their background. Yes, 'Seconds,' with an adrenaline-packed premise, is thrilling for most of its part. As the first half ends, you wait for the next part to unfold to learn why things happened the way it was shown.
All the actors do justice to their roles. However,
