'Puli' is the 58th movie of Illayathalapathy Vijay and the superstar is joining hands with director Chimbudevan of ‘Imsai Arasan 23aam Pulikesi’ and ‘Irumbukottai Murattu Singam’. The 100crore budget fantasy film has top notch technicians participating like Natty Natraj as cinematographer, DSP as Music Director, T. Muthuraj as Production Designer and Sreekar Prasad as the Editor. The film is produced by Vijay’s former PRO P.T. Selvakumar in association Shibu of Thameem films.
The film went on the floors in the latter part of 2014 with Hansika and Shruthi Haasan signed to play the heroines. Yesteryear Dreamgirl Sridevi then joined the cast playing the powerful role of a Queen and Kannada Superstar Kicha Sudeep came on board as the main antagonist. Illaya Thilagam Prabhu accepted the role of a rajaguru who trains Vijay in various martial arts to combat Sudeep. ‘Puli’ has a number of top comedians like Sathyan, Karunaas, Robo Shankar, Imman Annachi and Thambi Ramaiya. Later on actress Nandita joined the cast for an important role and Anjali is also being approached for a special appearance.
As of April 2015 60% shooting of the film is over and the work is going on in full swing to complete and release ‘Puli’ on Vijay’s birthday which falls on June 22nd
