Cast: Dulquer Salman, Parvathy, Aparna Gopinath.Direction: Martin Prakkat.Genre: Romance.Duration: 2 hours 10 minutes.
Synopsis: The character of Charlie is a 'refreshing' change from the usual commitment-phobic lover boy roles essayed by Dulquer.
Review: 'He's like the wind. When it hits you, you feel refreshed but you can never catch it' - That is how a character describes the eponymous title character of Charlie, portrayed by Dulquer Salman. True to the words, the movie is a delight and Dulquer's embodiment of the character even more so.
Charlie celebrates the positive side of life. The movie starts with an independent and quirky graphic artist Tessa (Parvathy) moving to a new place to get away from a marriage proposal. She rents a house, which was previously occupied by Charlie. She sifts through his belongings and soon they set her on a trail to find the mystery behind the man.
This leads her to several people whose lives have been touched by Charlie's effervescent cheer; but the subject of her chase keeps eluding her. How she finds him and in the process falls in love, drives the plot.
The character of Charlie is a 'refreshing' change from the usual commitment-phobic lover boy roles essayed by Dulquer. Despite the bearded, edgy getup, he manages to carry the role with just the right amount of warmth. Parvathy plays her inquisitive part well and has equal screen time and presence as the hero.
