Court rejects plea for further prob
Gulberg case: Court rejects plea for further probe of phone records CD
 INDIA , 26-April-2011  7:17:55 AM

A special court on Tuesday rejected application of some of the victims of 2002 Gulberg society case seeking directions for special investigation team (SIT) to further investigate the details of the CD containing records of phone calls between police officers, political leaders and some of the accused during riots.

Judge B J Dhandha hearing the case, rejected the application saying that the SIT was still investigating the cases and was going to place its report before the Supreme Court.

Advocate S M Vora representing the victims had argued that the SIT has placed on record call details of the accused in the case, but has not put on record the phone call details of persons who were in touch with the accused in the case.

These other persons named in the application include Tanmay Mehta, Anil Mukim, Sanjay Bhavsar of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi's office (CMO), the then DGP K Chakravarthi, former Minister of State for Home Gordhan Zadafia and others.
