| TIRUPATI : The prisoners in the sub-jail in Tirupati were on Thursday in for a unique experience.
Nearly hundred of them were given a two-hour training in `Sanjeevini kriyayoga' aimed at improving their inner potentiality. This is basically a relaxation technique which would help its practitioners enjoy complete peace of mind and maintain their mental and physical balance, said Acharya Rangadhama, of the Sanjeevini Foundation, Tirupati which organised the one-day class for prisoners at the instance of jail officials.
As the yoga master taught them different, finer aspects of the Sanjeevini Yoga, the prisoners repeated them meticulously with keen interest.
Practice classes
All that they have to do is to practice what they learnt on Thursday for one hour daily, both in the morning and evening at sunrise and sunset, he said.
At sunrise, before breakfast in the morning and at 5.30 pm in the evening it should be practised to stay fit both physically and mentally.
"If the jail authorities want we are ready to conduct for the benefit of the prisoners a full-fledged five-day workshop," said the acharya.
Training
The next batch to undergo training is the juvenile prisoners lodged in their `Home' in the Thatitopu area on the Tirupati-Chittoor highway.
But, about a dozen odd women prisoners who are also lodged in the sub-jail were however, excluded from the training classes by the jail authorities for certain `technical reasons'
