In addition to a score temples, there are several places of interest and importance in and around Tirupati town.

The prominent ones are:

ALAMELUMANGAPURAM (TIRUCHANUR):

Located about five km from Tirupati, Tiruchanur is an ancient and sacred place. The temple of Sri Padmavati Devi, the consort of Sri Venkateswara is situated here. There are also sacred shrines of Sri Krishnaswamy and Surya Narayanaswamy.

SRINIVASA MANGAPURAM:

Srinivasa Mangapuram is a small village about 12 km west of Tirupati. A shrine of Kalyana Venkateswara is located south-east of this village.

NARAYANAVANAM:

Narayanavanam is a small town about 22 km south east of Tirupati. A shrine dedicated to Kalyana Venkateswara is located here.

NAGALAPURAM:

A shrine dedicated to Lord Veda Narayanaswamy is situated at

this place about 65 km suth east of Tirupati.

APPALAYAGUNTA:

The temple of Lord Prasanna Venkateswaraswami is located at

Appalayagunta, about 15 km from Tirupati. The imposing image of the wind god is worshipped by devotees for relief from chronic diseases.

KARVETINAGARAM:

This temple situated near Puttur at a distance of 58 km from

Tirupati is dedicated to Lord Venugopalaswamy with Rukmini and Satyabhama.

VAYALPAD:

An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Sri Rama is located in this

town about 100 km from Tirupati.

KAANIPAAKAM:

An ancient temple of Lord Vara Siddhi Vinayaka is located in

this small village about 80 km from Tirupati. Though the exact date of construction is not known, the temple is believed to be as old as Tirupati itself.

The other places of interest in Tirumala are:

The Geological Arch (Silatoranam): A rare geological formation situated about one km north of the temple resembles a stone arch.

Asthana Mantapam (Sadas Hall): This is the venue for devotional programmes like discourses, music concerts, harikathas and bhajans conducted under the auspices of TTD Dharma Prachara Parishad.
