FOR YOUNG AND ADULT MUSIC LOVERS:

I am willing to open a music class, preferably bengali Rabindrasangeet. I would also like to touch base on North Indian classical music.

A little about my musical background:

From the tender years of my life, I was imbibed into music by my family, my parents, my mother, aunts, my sister and other elders who were/are great music lovers and performers.

I had my B.Muse degree (equivalent to Bachelors degree) in N.Indian classical and Rabindrasangeet from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad board of music, India, with distinctions in both disciplines throughout the tenure of my musical training sessions. I was also given admission in M.Muse (equivalent to Masters) in Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, India. But owing to my simultaneous admission in my academic masters program, I had to forgo the masters training in music.

Prior to that I had my N.Indian classical music trainings for a number of yrs. from my enthusiastic gurus, disciples of Pandit Amir Khan and Pandit Tarapada Chakraborty.

Later I was a performer in Rabindrasangeet from All India Radio and Doordarshan, Kolkata for a couple of yrs.

I had performed in several places in India and US, including Bangamela and Banga Sanskriti Sammelans.

I had the honor and privelege to continue with my trainings in Rabindrasangeet under the able tutelage of eminent artists and teachers as Sm. Ritu Guha and late Sri.Subinoy Roy in Kolkata, India.

Currently, I am continuing to practice and keep alive my urge in music, specially Rabindrasangeet from the illustrous teacher and performer, Sm. Banani Ghosh in US.

Last Feb. my first music CD in Rabindrasangeet was released in Kolkata and had impressive reviews from one of the popular Bengali newspapers in Kolkata, India.
