Bhangra is originally a harvest dance from Punjab in northwestern India. Today it is danced at celebrations, particularly at weddings. Bhangra has undergone numerous transformations as DJs in Britain and the U.S. experiment with the music, mixing it with hip-hop, dancehall, drum 'n bass and more. The dance also incorporates these influences, reflecting the diversity of the Indian diaspora, and the malleability of this tradition, which keeps it thriving!
