Dear friends,
I give lessons in North Indian Classical and semi-classical music, as hindi bhajans.
I do bengali RabindraSangeet and will be giving Nazrulgeeti songs.
My students range from ages 7 yrs. up, unless someone, below that age, is keen on learning.
My young and adult classes run throughout the week in the evenings. I do have classes on weekend mornings.
I am giving lessons for the last several years. I am also interested in having classes elsewhere, depending on student strength.
They learn the basics of vocal music, songs. My students have a good understanding of Sur, Taal and Lay/Laya- the 3 basics of performing music.
I teach with the help of my key-board, but I am open to bringing in your own harmonium. My students learn to play the harmonium/keyboard with the help of notations provided to them, have a good grasp of 'taal/laya' with the help of my electronic 'tabla'. They develop a good sense of 'Sur' by learning to play themselves and with the accompaniment of my electronic 'tanpura'.
I have rendered solo and duet performances with my sister, in several places in US and India. Basically I performed Bengali Rabindrasangeet, Nazrulgeeti and Hindi Bhajans with great appreciation.
Recently, on June 25th, I had given a performance in Hindi bhajans with my sister, and received great appreciation from good music lovers.
