Shamit, a talented and accomplished young singer achieved International fame through Sony TV’s first reality music show - "Fame Gurukul". After being one of the Top Five contestants at "Fame Gurukul" and First Runner-up at "Dus ke Dus le Gaye Dil", he became a star worldwide. He draws huge crowd wherever he goes - be it Delhi or Dhaka. His fans are in the age group of 8 to 80 who is more than an icon for them.
He is a trained singer and has learnt Hindustani classical for almost 15 years. He has learnt from Shri Haridutt Sharma, Mr Anant Vaidyanathan and is currently learning from Shri Satyanarayan Mishra. Apart from Hindustani Classical, Shamit has also learnt Western Classical for a while from Mr. Hurchul Young from Delhi School of Music. He is a complete performer who sways the crowd through his tunes and foot tapping numbers.
