My Fair Lady: A Bollywood Ballerina
The proceeds of this show go toward supporting the mission of CRY - to restore basic rights to underprivileged children, especially in India
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , 5-September-2007  11:7:4 AM
Child Rights and You (CRY) and Dreams present "My Fair Lady - A Bollywood Ballerina" choreographed by Prashanthi Chitre and directed by Jayant Bhopatkar.

DREAMS came into being 5 years ago as a group specializing in Bollywood dance. The group performed mainly to Hindi film songs during shows by local music bands AllGoRhythms and RagaToRock. A couple of years ago, DREAMS decided to strike out on their own and perform classic musicals translated into Hindi. “Cinderella – A Bollywood Ballet” was their first such independent production. They performed this during CRY’s RazzMatazz show to widespread acclaim. After much demand for more productions of this type, DREAMS is back with this year’s production, “My Fair Lady – A Bollywood Ballerina”.

Based on George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion, My Fair Lady is a Hollywood classic starring Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn. Translated for the first time into a Hindi musical, “My Fair Lady – A Bollywood Ballerina” is a dance drama following a Bollywood choreographer’s quest to show the world that only hard work, persistence, and practice can help one make the best of any situation. He trains a street dancer to become the next winner at a national level dancing competition while unknowingly falling in love with her.

The proceeds of this show go toward supporting the mission of CRY - to restore basic rights to underprivileged children, especially in India.
