Bala Devi Chandrashekar is an accomplished dancer, choreographer and teacher of Bharata Nrityam. She has performed in number of prestigious forums and has trained students and teachers of dance. She focuses on creating and consolidating awareness about the link that the ancient heritage has, through classical style of dance, by imparting valuable training to motivated students of classical dance in Princeton, NJ. Bala is a panel artist with New Jersey State Council on the arts. She is an active participant in some of the prestigious dance seminars and workshops. She is involved in developing “Performance studies” in collaboration with Theater and Dance, History, Philosophy, Linguistic anthropology and South Asian departments of various universities in the USA.
