Surprisingly, no Congress state has announced a cut in sales taxes on petrol and diesel yet. This, despite an appeal from Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
West Bengal, Kerala, Bihar and Tamil Nadu have announced a cut in sales tax to lower the price of fuel.
Sales tax cut on fuel:
West Bengal: Post-hike prices down:
Petrol to cost Rs 1.78 less
Diesel to cost Rs 1.15 less
Bihar: Post-hike prices down:
Petrol will cost Re 1 less
Diesel will cost Re 1 less
Kerala: Post-hike prices down:
Petrol to cost Rs 1.45 less
Diesel to cost Re 1 less
Tamil Nadu: Post-hike prices down:
Diesel to cost 60 paise less
There's no cut in petro prices.
But there's some good news, flying could become cheaper or at least not any more expensive! Oil companies have cut prices of jet fuel, passing on the benefit of the duty cuts announced on Wednesday.
