| Separatist leaders in Kashmir have called off their protests after the government revoked the transfer of land to the Amarnath shrine board.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq of the Hurriyat Conference, currently under house arrest, said that the concerns of people have finally been addressed. Mirwaiz has asked people to stop the agitation and return to their normal lives.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also reiterated the position of the Hurriyat Conference on this issue that they are not against the pilgrims to the Amarnath shrine.
Kashmiri Muslims will continue to always facilitate the visit of pilgrims to the religious shrines, he said.
National Conference President Omar Abdullah blamed both the PDP and the Congress for the divide in the state.
The Peoples Demoratic party has welcomed the revocation but still sees no meeting ground with their former coalition partners the Congress. The party had withdrawn its support after land was transferred to the shrine board.
The BJP for its part says the cancellation of the land transfer is against the secularism. They blame the central government and have called for a nationwide bandh on the July 3.
