| Late N T Rama Rao's son Balakrishna has followed in megastar Chiranjeevi's footsteps and turned a politician.
The superstar made his appearance at the yuvagarjana publuc meeting of Telugu Desam, the party his late father launched in 1982.
The TDP's hopes of returning to power in the state are virtually pinned on Balakrishna who has enough charisma to counter Chiranjeevi, the Telugu mega star who floated his own political party Praja Rajyam.
It is primarily to counter the Chiranjeevi effect that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has roped in Balakrishna, who is his brother-in-law.
